Who they are
LK Metrology is a British manufacturer of coordinate measuring machines with a heritage stretching back to the origins of commercial CMM technology. The company designs, builds and services bridge, gantry and horizontal-arm CMMs from its UK headquarters.
The current LK range includes the Altera bridge CMMs, high-accuracy fixed-bridge systems and dual-column horizontal-arm machines used across aerospace, automotive and general engineering.
Products & services
Altera and Altera-S bridge CMMs
Moving-bridge CMMs available in a wide range of measuring volumes, with granite structures, air-bearing guideways and optional Renishaw scanning sensors. Sizes cover general engineering through to large aerospace parts.
Horizontal-arm and gantry CMMs
Dual-column horizontal-arm systems and fixed-bridge machines built for measuring large sheet-metal assemblies, bodies-in-white and aerospace structures where bridge CMMs run out of stroke.
Retrofit, service and calibration
LK also retrofits and re-controls older CMMs (including non-LK machines), extending useful life instead of replacing an entire machine.
Where they're strong
- British-designed and British-built - short supply chain for spares, service and application support
- Broad size envelope from small inspection cells to very large aerospace CMMs
- Machines specified to ISO 10360
Typical sectors
Why we work with LK
For manufacturers who value UK-based service response and want to keep support close to home, LK is often the strongest specification.
The retrofit capability is a valuable middle ground when a customer's existing CMM has years of mechanical life left but is running out-of-date controls or software.
We stay independent - we don't take vendor targets. If LK isn't the right fit for your parts, we'll say so.
